September 1995 - October 1997
General Presentation 1
In September 1995, RTÉ followed the lead of the main UK broadcasters by improving its brand identity. A new RTÉ corporate logo was launched - designed by Neasa Hardiman. Neasa teamed up with fellow RTÉ graphic designers Hilliard Hayden, Alan Pleass and Fióna Burke, to create distinctive new identifications for the two television networks.
After almost seven years of the 'brush strokes' logo, RTÉ Network 2 came on air on September 02 1995 with a fresh new look. The computer-animated idents took as their theme the Greek classical elements of Fire, Earth, Air and Water.
As with the previous presentation package, there were no programme holding captions. Shortened versions of the ident animations were used as break stings.
